Customer Feedback

"We just received our first box today....all I can say is THANK YOU! The effort and the planning that went into the project ideas shows! My son was so excited to get the box and even more to dig through it and decide which project he wants to do first! Big Thanks!!"

Multiple Projects in a Box
Review by carrie k.
Great easy to follow instructions. Enough material to do more than one top and stained glass. Great for 3,5 and even 8 year old.

Unique materials
Review by Beth K.
I loved that there was more than one project in the crate, and included was everything we would need. Also I loved that it wasn't just stuff that I could have thought of or had on hand already, and my kids loved it. I did think it could include a bit more in terms of teaching hints, or other add on projects, etc. My kids finished their tops within a few minutes. It would be nice to have something that lasted a little longer (although my kids are young so they don't have a long attention span either).

Little to no mess!
Review by Judi & Mike H.
Fun and creative projects with little to no mess. Would love more supplies. He kept wanting to do more windows, so perhaps putting additional supplies / projects in each crate would help it stretch more. I keep sneaking "projects" into the green box and telling him we have another project to do. He really loved it though.

Review by Misha M.
Loved the multiple ideas and that everything we needed was inside ready to go.

Loved the prep work
Review by Rachel B.
This was my first crate so it was such a nice surprise to have everything prep'ed - tissue cut into little squares. Also loved that there were actually 3 projects in the crate and super easy to follow/complete. Loved it!

Review by kacey n.
Love the way it came packaged. The 3 activities seem like a lot of fun. My child is a bit too young right now, but will keep till she's older. She liked drawing on the paper circles to put on the spinning tops though. She was able to do that activity.

great for moms
Review by Diane T.
The clear directions, all great materials, great projects. I really liked the design of the directions and all pieces. Nothing so far...looking forward to seeing the other crates. As someone with a background in marketing, I really appreciate all the work you put into the design of the crate and materials. The logo, coloring, etc. is very attractive. And as a mom who doesn't have the energy to come up with interesting art projects, I enjoyed having all the materials in front of me! It's also nice that the projects took long enough that it took us three different times to complete everything!

Tons of Value
Review by Barry S.
The educational value and the creativity value of the activities. The packaging and pair of scissors were a definite plus. Everything was perfect! Thank you!

nice idea
Review by Sumy D.
It's cute. Nice ideas for activities. The materials are kind of "exactly" the amount you need to do the project (maybe with a couple of iterations). They are sometimes not enough for a sibling to participate. The tidiness of the pack and scarcity of materials is discouraging creativity wise. Probably works for others. I like a messier, more abundant ambiance. Even at 10$ it seems a bit expensive. The ideas do transform the materials and add value, but it still doesn't feel quite like the ideas are so unique that the added value of the idea justifies the cost. If I think that for 10$-20$ I can buy a lego game (endless hours of play), I'm not sure this is the best way to spend my money.

Not Engaging Enough
Review by Rathna R.
This was not engaging enough for my 4 yo. Came in nice packaging, but very disappointing projects. I was hoping for more. It is truly unfortunate because I think this is a great idea. Unfortunately, the projects were too basic. The stained glass could perhaps be interesting for an older child who actually made intricate designs, or possibly younger children who just want to play with the sticky contact paper, but for my son's age group, this just wasn't a good fit. The sack with tissue project was somewhat more interesting, but when the tissue dried and were removed, the final colors were disappointing.

Perfect for a Rainy Day
Review by Tiziano P.
The tops were fun! Haven't tried the stained glass yet as we are waiting for a rainy day. I would like some more directions, for example, for the tops, it would be nice to recommend some different designs that would work well.

love these ready made projects
Review by Lisa W.
I love that I have two ready made projects to do with my girls. And everything we need is there. This is my first crate. I'm too happy with this!

lots of materials
Review by Heather O.
We really liked that there was multiple of most of the projects so we could stretch the activity out over a few days.

So far, so good
Review by Julie M.
Love the little instructional pamphlets explaining the different steps of the project. Nice to have several different projects all in one box, and the amount of materials seemed pretty good. The little plastic packages are a little hard to open and then split easily along the seam, so it was hard for me to reuse them to hold the remaining tissue paper, films, etc. Also, it might be nice to have a list of other related projects one could do with similar materials.

Fantastic Crate!
Review by Meg D.
The crate was well organized and very easy to use. My 4 1/2 year old loved cutting the films for the stained glass. He also loved looking at the world through blue lenses! We all enjoyed the spinning tops - we explored what happens when we use very precise drawing next to scribbles. Really fun projects! I have already recommended your service to several friends who have expressed interest in subscribing. From the moment I met the Kiwi Crate team at the Palo Alto Art fest I was sold! I will be sending subscriptions to my niece and nephew for Christmas!

What a neat little package!
Review by Javan Q.
It had everything I needed right there in a neat little package - we just loved it. Ethan is looking forward to getting his next package. I can't wait myself. So far, so good - if I can be so bold, I'd love 2-3 more projects, but that's just greedy. :) I love this product - thanks for coming up with this idea. Sure wish I would have thought of it myself... it's going to be a great success.

Tons of Materials
Review by Leslie P.
Great variety. Very interactive. Colorful. Seemed like you got a lot. The bonus video project that we also found online (milk, food coloring, soap) was awesome and just the kind of value added thing that will keep customers interested and coming back for more. Bravo.

Great for Siblings
Review by Melinda R.
Including multiples of each craft is BRILLIANT. Everyone has that mom who's doing it with the kid and the sibling who wants to try too.

great main projects
Review by Mary T.
Big hit with a 3 year old, he liked the spinning tops, and enjoyed looking at the stained glass after it was done. We haven't done the bag yet, but he loved using the dropper to mix colors in a mini muffin pan using water and food coloring. Some activities that take a little longer to do. The tissue paper was already pre-cut so my 3 year old was less interested.

age appropriate for 3 yo
Review by Cindy A.
I loved the stained glass project -- very appropriate for my almost 3 year old. And the finished product really turns out great. The spinning tops were fun but less in depth -- and collaborative. Loved the extra project too -- not as messy as the meter said. Could maybe have used a few more contact sheets and frames -- or better yet (a way to order just those supplies -- pre- cut).

Nicely sized projects
Review by Sophia O.
I liked that it had 3 separate projects included, and that the projects were "bite sized" (i.e. were straightforward, didn't take a ton of time to complete, etc).

Great for Craft Time
Review by David Y.
The tissue paper projects, stain glass and canvas bag projects were our favorites. The materials were very good quality. I love that after getting many poor quality products in the ready assembled craft projects from big craft stores. We have a craft room but often I don't have everything I need or a clear plan on a project. With the box I have everything I need in one place and it's easy to set up a project if we have just a little time for craft time.

My non-crafty son got into this one!
Review by Dori G.
I liked that my son liked it! He's not particularly into crafts, but he found both the stained glass windows and the tops to be very engaging. He asked to use his project box almost every day for a week.

Loved the stain glass window project, and the final products are still up on our windows. The tops were fun too.

The creativity and the smile on my child's face make enough for a sibling to do it also.

High quality
Review by Jonah L.
It was really high quality! The projects took the perfect amount of time to keep my daughter's attention. She is using the little dyed bag as a little treat tote! We loved it!

Lovely frames
Review by LYNN R.
The quality of the materials is excellent. My son especially enjoyed the spinning top activity. He has returned to it twice now to make another one! He was really proud of his tissue paper stained bag. The framed colorful pictures are on display on our glass kitchen doors. They are beautiful, especially when the light hits them. Everything was great.

It was very nicely packaged and the content was exceptional. Would love this to be an extended craft for a class project.

Enjoyed the projects
Review by Patrick P.
I liked that (1) these were not activities/crafts i would have come up with on my own. (2) multiple crafts in 1 box. (3) they required little mom supervision.

Beautiful Packaging
Review by Chris F.
The packaging was beautiful. I appreciate that there were two activities plus enough materials in one for multiple projects. The bonus project was fun. The instructions are wonderfully put together and I was impressed with the quality of the materials provided. No complaints here!

Review by Maureen K.
Loved how well thought out it was, and how it expanded! Each little thing, like the blue glasses, created lots of fun and opportunity for imagination. Even the little water dropper turned into a whole project. The other day my son used the dropper and food color to mix colored water for about 30 minutes before he dove into making two stained glass windows all on his own this time. The contents of the crate are excellent and high-quality.

Review by Joy H.
We liked that there were 2 crafts. My 2 year old daughter loves the stained glass and my son is really enjoying the spinners (or Beyblades, as he calls them). I was very impressed with the quality of the packaging and the contents.

Engaged my 3.4 yo
Review by Nkechinyere A.
The stained glass and fabric bag projects were great and kept my 3.5 year old engaged for a little bit. While I was excited about the tops and the colors for them, my daughter wasn't very into it. The color combinations didn't seem to make what she wanted and often turned into sludgey brownish. She soon lost interest. It was also difficult for her to spin the tops.

Review by Benjamin E.
There were two different project sides of the box. The instruction card was simple and easy to read so we could get going on the project as soon as it was opened. It's a little advanced for my 2 1/2 year old but I knew that going in. I wanted to support the company and it looked like a great idea. The stained glass window project was good for the plane and would be good for restaurants. I'm always looking for ideas to occupy my little one when we travel and to enjoy a meal! Coloring books and crayons are fine but the kiwi crate is fantastic.

Neat & Clear!
Review by Andrew G.
The way the crate was put together was great! Very neatly organized. The printed materials were beautiful and the instructions clear. Including three frames for the stained glass windows was nice too. We used all the bleeding tissue paper before we knew we needed leftovers for the tote bag dyeing!

The tops were so fun!
Review by nira s.
The kids and I had a great conversation about the tops - loved the way they were excited about slowly adding more and more colors to see what the results looked like when they spun the top.
