My son is really into outer space and rockets right now. Anyone out there have ideas for DIY room decor? I'm planning to purchase these wall decals from Etsy to get started. THANKS!

this would have a very DIY feel to it - hanging different rockets from the ceiling: http://www.kiwicrate.com/projects/Cardboard-Tube-Rocket-Ship/930

2 wood dowels (painted silver), some clear threading and painted styro balls. First thought to making something similar.

One more idea for you is over the summer my brother took some amazing photos of the stars. I loved them so much I framed them in all different sizes and hung them over our bed. Sort of like sleeping under the stars. ;)
sleeping under the stars - cool idea! would be amazing to get photos of some constellations or even paint them with the glow in the dark paint on the black canvas

Using glow in the dark paint and a large black canvas you could do a huge moon and stars painting. We did a small version of this here http://greenowlart.blogspot.com/2012/07/glow-in-dark-moon-and-stars-painting.html
Such a fun theme! Share pics when you're done!
Thanks Melissa! Definitely something the kiddos would like to do too. Anyone have a favorite type or brand of glue in the dark paint?

Martha Stewart! It's the best and comes in three different colors. Her chalkboard paint rocks too!! ;)
What great decals! I saw this at PBK and thought it was cute: http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/planet-mobile/?pkey=e|planet|2|best|0|1|24||2&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-NoMerchRules-_-

Thanks for the suggestion, Yael! I wonder if there is a way for me to make that myself...I'm not too crafty but I'm trying to learn!
