You have the option to select any of our holiday crates as the first crate of any length gift subscription. Simply go to http://www.kiwicrate.com/holidaygifts and select which holiday crate you would like as the first crate of your gift subscription.
If I purchase a gift subscription today, can I choose what month I want the gift subscription to start?
Yes, you can select what month you would like the gift subscription to start. Simply select what month you would like your subscription to start on the Order Summary screen right before you complete your order.

Can the first crate of the gift subscription be shipped to me, and then have the rest of the crates shipped to the giftee?
Yes. After entering the shipping address, select the "Ship the first crate to my billing address and following crates to the above shipping address" option.
Unfortunately, we do not offer gift wrapping, but our crates arrive in our signature green box featured on our website. Party packs are available in your choice of four colors - green, blue, pink and red. Feel free to wrap them - or not!
We offer three options: Space Hero, Fairy Fun and Gifts Made by Me - see our Celebration Shop for details. Additionally, monthly subscription crates (month-to-month, or 3/6/12 months) are not holiday themed.
Every month you'll receive all the materials and inspiration for projects related to a theme such as music, gardening, dinosaurs or colors. Projects may include arts and crafts, science activities, imaginative play and more. We've hand selected and kid tested projects that are open ended and encourage curiosity, exploration and creativity! View sample crates.
Simply sign up for a monthly subscription and a fun-filled crate addressed to your child will arrive on your doorstep each month. (We find that kids love receiving mail!) You will be billed $19.95 monthly (shipping is free) and you can cancel at any time.
1. Simply go to the gift page and choose the length of subscription you wish to gift (3, 6 or 12 months).
2. Choose a gift delivery method: provide the address to send directly to the recipient's home or send an e-gift card which the recipient can redeem for a Kiwi Crate subscription.
3. Your gift will be enjoyed for months to come!
If you sign up by the 4th of the month, we ship your crate from California around the 15th of every month with an estimated 5-10 business days for delivery. If you sign up between the 5th and the 17th of the month, your crate will ship on or around the 22nd of that month. For example, if you sign up by the 4th of June, your first crate will ship on or around June 15th. If you sign up on or after the 5th of June but on or before June 17th, your first crate will ship on or around June 22nd. Otherwise, your first crate will ship July 15th. Please check your order confirmation for an estimated shipping date.
When you sign up for the monthly membership, you will be billed for your first crate immediately. After that, you will be billed up to 10 days before your ship date. This would be on or around the 5th of each month.
We have several options to accommodate siblings:
-Single Crate to Share: We provide a generous amount of materials for one child - many of our projects, but not all, can accommodate two children.
-Add Materials to a Crate: We include extra materials for a sibling to share the crate. Our customers call it the "no fight" crate. (available for $7.95/month with our monthly subscription and $88 with our annual subscription)
-Order an Additional Crate: Each child can delight in opening their own package each month.
Our crates are designed for children ages 3-7. We take a lot of care to design our crates in a way that is open ended so that although children across the age range may have different outcomes, they will all enjoy interacting with the projects and materials. We have had testers up to 9 years old enjoy the crates!
At the end of your subscription, you will be sent an email and a note in your last crate to remind you to renew your subscription.
Yes - if you don't want to receive a crate for a period of time, just log into My Account. Click into a subscription that you'd like to pause and click Pause. You can choose to pause your subscription for 1, 2, 3, 6, or 12 months. We will automatically skip the number of months and reactivate your subscription accordingly. Pause by the 4th of the month to avoid being billed for the next crate.
We'd hate to see you go, but you can cancel a monthly subscription any time through your My Account page. Please cancel by the 4th of the month to avoid getting billed and shipped the next month's crate. Annual and gift subscriptions are not eligible for cancellation.
We ship anywhere in the United States using USPS with tracking numbers, including Hawaii, Alaska, and APO addresses. Shipping for monthly and gift subscriptions is free.
At this time, Kiwi Crate does not ship internationally. Feel free to sign up for our international wait list and you’ll be the first to know if we begin shipping to your country.
Yes. You can check the status of your shipments in your My Account page.
Yes - you can change these at any time in your My Account page. Please change your address by the 4th of the month to ensure you don’t miss a crate.
Our crates are designed by parents, reviewed by child development experts, and tested by kids to ensure every crate is a hit in your home. We hope that you enjoy every crate. If there is a project that wasn't a hit for you, please let us know in our Crate Feedback form that will be emailed for each crate.
Each crate is designed by our community of parents, guided by our expert advisory board, and tested by kids to ensure they are developmentally appropriate and fun for kids ages 3-7. Projects have been hand-selected because they're open-ended, fun, and universally liked by boys and girls.

Sandra, one of our founders, had picked up a stuffed animal kiwi from New Zealand years ago. This kiwi became one of her kids' favorite plush toys. Running through potential names, it struck us that Kiwi (as he’s called) would make the perfect mascot for the company. As the kids envision him, Kiwi is friendly, curious, and a willing companion on all their adventures – just the sort of qualities we hope to convey ourselves. Since our kids were the inspiration for the company to begin with, we love having them tied into the process at so many levels, from branding and design critics to Chief Product Testers. As long as you order a total of six or more Party Packs, you can mix and match however you like! You can get an assortment of different Party Packs so you can get the perfect favor for every child. For example, if you wanted 4 Capes and 4 Wands in different colors for a party, you could order 2 Blue Capes, 2 Pink Capes, and 4 Wands. You can also mix and match the crate color (available in four colors) to complement you party decor or theme.
Yes! When you purchase, you'll be given the option to indicate your purchase is a gift and asked to enter a gift message. We'll include a card with your gift message printed on it.
Yes, your credits will automatically be applied during checkout.

Orders placed by 5PM PST Monday-Friday will ship within 2 business days. (So orders placed Friday will ship by Tuesday.) Overnight orders placed by 1PM PST Monday-Friday will ship out the same day.
