Back to School Comfort Charm
Those first days of school can be so scary for our little ones. As a little extra added comfort we made a charm necklace filled with love as a way to comfort my daughter during moments of missing her family.
How We Did It
Preheat the oven to the shrink form package instructions. I cut large hearts out for my daughter to decorate. Using a hole punch I punched out several holes to make a large opening for the string (the hole shrinks so you need several punches to keep it large enough afterwards.)
Next, my daughter used permanent markers to add a drawing of our family. This is what she felt would comfort her on those first few days of school.
How sweet is that? We placed it on a parchment lined baking sheet and into the oven it went.
After just a few minutes we had this adorable charm. I pulled it out of the oven and let it cool for a few minutes (adult only step.)
We used twine to turn it into a necklace and my daughter was feeling more confident to take on the 1st grade, already!
