Cardboard Tube Octopus
Activity DesignerMelissa Allen
Sometimes I wish I could buy empty cardboard tube rolls. They are so great for kids' crafts and we use them up as soon as they hit the recycle bin. This sweet octopus is a new family favorite, especially once my two-year-old discovered he could stick his hand in the bottom to turn it into a puppet. His octopus voice was hilarious!
What You'll Need
- cardboard tubes (toilet paper or paper towel tubes) (toilet paper or paper towel rolls)
How We Did It
First, cut the bottom of the roll to create eight legs (or however many you'd like) for your octo-friend!
Once the legs are good to go, it's time for some color! The kids decided to make red and purple sea buddies.
After our new little friends were dry, we added some eyes. That's all my kids wanted to add for the face, but feel free to get creative with a fun nose and mouth.
