I think chalk is one of our favorite art materials to use. So, making a chalkboard necklace was over-the-top exciting for my kids! Who wouldn't love an accessory that can be personalized each day?
How We Did It
Wooden domino pieces worked perfect for this. Any small wooden game piece will work great! I even toyed around with the idea of using a round wooden coin.
My daughter painted each domino with the chalkboard paint. We did about 2-3 coats to be sure to get a nice writing surface.
When the dominos were dry, we attached a long piece of twine to the back with a piece of masking tape.
Emma was so excited to start personalizing her charms! She thought this was the coolest thing ever, and was thrilled to make some for all of her cousins and friends.
Our chalkboard necklaces turned out so precious. Such a fun project and great gift!
