My daughter loves playing dress up and has been getting into the spirit of Halloween early this year. She's been asking, "Is it Halloween today" pretty much daily.
The other day, she decided she wanted to be a clown. So I got out a few craft items and we made our own little clown costume. She really wanted some clown shoes to go with this costume too...but that will have to be another project for mommy to figure out how to make another day. ;-)
What You'll Need
How We Did It
I first took the paper plate and cut a slit through one side of the plate. Then I cut out a circle. The circle should be big enough to fit comfortably around your child's neck.
I used the circle that I cut out of the paper plate and poured some glue onto it. My daughter then used this to dip her pom-poms in glue, then attached them around the plate to make her clown collar. We set it aside to let the glue dry.
Next up: a clown hat. I took a large piece of construction paper and rolled it up into a cone shape. I trimmed the wide end of the cone to make it all even.
I gave her some markers and stickers, but she opted to just add some star stickers around the hat and glued a pom-pom at the tip of the cone.
With a hole puncher, I punched two holes on the side of the egg cup and tied some string through. I did the same with the cone-shaped hat.
