Flower Hair Clips
This is a fun and super easy craft, perfect for kids to make together at a playdate or as a take-home party favor. And you can purchase all the needed supplies at the dollar store, making it super economical.
How We Did It
First we assembled our supplies and began to heat up our glue gun.
The girls selected the flowers they wanted to use and trimmed the stems off with a scissors. I showed them how to cut as much of the stem off as possible.
With some flowers, you will need to remove the green plastic base (seen as the round spiky piece in this photo) so that the flower will lay flat when you glue it to the barrette. If this is what has been holding layers of a flower together, you can hot glue the layers before attaching the flower to the barrette.
Next, I opened the barrette, so as not to glue it shut, and put a dab of hot glue on the largest part of the barrette, attaching the flower.
For some barrettes, the girls chose to attach ribbon as well. We made little bows and glued those to the barrette first, then the flowers.
After a minute, the glue was all dry and we could put the barrettes on the dolls.
And here is my daughter with the flower barrette she chose for herself.
