Folded Paper Animals
Earlier in the day we had enjoyed a wander at the zoo--what fun to come home and see which of our favorites we could make!
How We Did It
Construction paper is the perfect weight for this craft!
Madeleine drew the giraffe, drawing the jaw and face on top of the ears, so that it could be folded...
then down the neck, and out to the legs (an 'h' shape)...
then cut it all out, and colored the spots.
We bent down the head, and she drew on the face.
One of our favorite parts of our zoo is the polar bear... we must have one!
And a crocodile! With teeth!
To add more dimension to the animals, we cut slits at the top of the fold, and added in pieces: ears... eyes...and a horn for the rhino.
You could add ears this way for an elephant, or a mane for a lion!
What other fabulous creatures can be made? An elephant? Lizards? How about a camel!?!
