How We Did It

Fruit Toss Game
Put 1/4 -1/2 cup of rice in a plastic bag. Seal it (if it is a ziplock) and tie a rubber band around the top. Make 3 of these bags. Use scraps of fabric to cover the rice bags. I used red fabric to make strawberries, but you could use blue, black, purple, etc. to make different types of fruit to toss. The scrap of fabric I used was approximately 7" x 9".

I really wanted to use the green berry containers that I remember from when I was younger, but my grocery store only had clear, plastic berry containers. So my son wove a piece of green string through the holes of the container (great for fine motor skills) so that it could be seen during the fruit toss.
Fruit Toss Game
This is what our game set looked like before we started. I put the corner of the rice bag in the middle of the piece of fabric and wrapped the fabric up around the bag. I closed it with a rubber band and added a bit of green ribbon to look like the leafy part of the strawberry.
Fruit Toss Game
Get ready to play. Each berry container can be worth a different point value or just try to make one berry in out of 3.
Fruit Toss Game
This was harder than I expected for the kids. They had a great idea to turn the berry containers over and stack them into a pyramid. They used the strawberries to knock them over. This was easier and more exciting for the age ranges of our family. The fruit toss game is perfect for a family get together, BBQ, or Summer day!
