My daughter loves to accessorize, and she loves art...so this craft was perfect for my fashionable, artistic kiddo. It allowed her to make her very own rice pendant to wear. This necklace was made simply with some glue, rice, and yarn. The end result turned out so beautiful. Emma made a few more for family and her teacher.
First, your child can make a shape of their choice on the Ziploc bag using the glue. Then fill the outline with a generous amount of glue.
Once the pendant shape is formed, it is time to decorate. My two-year-old loved to assist in this step. It was fun for him to sprinkle the rice on. I love when my kids can work as a team.
It is looking beautiful already. At this point it takes a day or two to dry. I say "out of sight, out of mind" for the younger impatient ones, but for older children it is fun to watch the glue dry and change with each passing hour.
Here is our dry pendant! We found out that for a glue pendant to hold a good shape, the shape has to be pretty exaggerated to hold, but we still loved ours. Once dry, the shape peeled right off the bag.
