These pretty little hearts couldn't be more simple to make, and the fact that they will feed the birds will surely make young crafters happy!

How We Did It

Heart-Shaped Popcorn Birdfeeder

I came up with this idea a few years ago. Maddie likes it because sometimes stringing long strands of popcorn and berries can be a bit exhausting for a little girl, but she does so love to make things for her animal friends!

Heart-Shaped Popcorn Birdfeeder
Cut a length of wire about 12-15 inches long.

Bend one end of the wire to make a stop point for your strand.

String on your popcorn. Make sure to eat any pieces that fall of your wire...very important!

Then we shaped the heart and bent the ends together to close it. You may choose to hang it with the end of the wire or put a pretty ribbon on it. Happy Valentine's Day!

My little cousins loved this activity at our last Christmas gathering. It's a little tricky for the young ones (like 3), but the 4- and 5-year-olds mastered it!
