What You'll Need

How We Did It

Lemonade Stand Sensory Play
To prepare for the lemonade stand sensory table, I filled our sand table with water, sliced a few lemons, and gathered cups, spoons, pitchers, and ladles. If you don't have a sand or water table, you can use a large container filled with water or even a baby pool. You can also add ice and a little bit of yellow food coloring (optional).

The kids squeezed the lemons into the water and mixed. This was a huge sensory experience. I don't know if they've ever had a piece of fruit in their hands just to squeeze the juice out of it or mash it up. The smell was powerful and they felt like they were making real lemonade.

I added ice and they continued to squeeze the lemons and "make" lemonade. My 6 year old son started a game of "Who can catch the lemon in their ladle?".

But my 3 year old daughter had a blast scooping, pouring, and "preparing" lemonade for everyone!
