Sometimes we need a step-by-step, and sometimes we don't. I loved this one. I just said "Mosaic African Mask," and Madeleine was off and running! She didn't need ideas, pictures, suggestions...clearly she had a very definite idea of how it should look!
How We Did It
All we needed for this one was construction paper!
We just trimmed the paper a bit, on the bottom corners, then Maddie drew where the eyes should go. To make the holes, she traced around something small and round, and I poked in scissors, and cut out the holes.
Time to decorate!
Madeleine knew just what to do... she cut squares, rectangles, and triangles,
and used some of our paper mosaic bits, as well.
"I love how his eyebrow is going!" she noted.
You could map out your mask, and have it all planned out, but as I mentioned, Maddie had a very clear idea of how hers should look!
It's done! I wonder what other play this mask will inspire....
