On-the-Go I Spy
My kids love to play I Spy! It is great for keeping us busy when we are waiting somewhere or standing in line. Lately, Natalie (2) has been wanting to play while I'm driving or while we are grocery shopping, which was the inspiration for On-the-Go I Spy.
How We Did It
First, hunt around the house together for small objects or toys that you can use in your own I Spy book.
Anything will work! We found things in our Mr. Potato Head box, blocks, play kitchen items, puzzle pieces, game pieces, and small characters.
Next, work together to arrange the objects in a group. Some can even overlap. Take a picture of your objects.
Print your pictures onto paper and, if you'd like, laminate the paper for durability. Take your On-the-Go I Spy book with you wherever you go. It is such a great game for working on colors, vocabulary, and critical thinking (giving clues). Your clues can be "I spy something blue," "I spy something that starts with 'C,'" or even something tricky like "I spy something that helps you see." The possibilities are endless!
