Painted Star Jar
Activity DesignerMelissa Allen
Our magical star jar was first created to help ease night-time nervousness for my little ones. (We just added a battery-operated tea light and used the jar as a nightlight.) However, the jars were so fun to make that we have made several more. We use these whimsical jars for candles and gifts. They work well to hold treats for teachers and even as a storage jar in our art room.

How We Did It
Grayson got to placing the stars all over the jar. He liked deciding the placement of each and every one.
We let it set for a few minutes and while the paint was still wet, we pulled off each star. Grayson (age two) needed help pulling his stars off, but my five-year-old could easily do this step.
