Painted Wooden Bead Necklaces
What kid doesn't love painting? The mere mention of paint gets my kids running for the table. Add in some big chunky beads that they can wear proudly around their neck? Yeah, my kids were in a state of bliss...and this is a project that this mommy is definitely proud to sport in public!
What You'll Need
- wooden beads
- paint (acrylic)
- paintbrushes
How We Did It
To start, we covered the kids' workspace with some paper towels for them to work on, since painting is fun but messy. Then we poured the paint colors in small cups, and each kid got brushes and beads.
My three-year-old liked slapping on the paint and then rolling the bead on the paper towel to create her design. This method also removes excess paint.
My five-year-old wanted to get artistic and used a small brush to add different colored dots and designs to the beads.
Then we let the beads dry for about 30 minutes on a paper towel. The kids just sat back, admired their work, and chatted about how they'd arrange the beads on their necklaces.

Going to have to try this!
