What You'll Need

How We Did It

Pom Pom Planets
Gather pom poms that represent the planets (as pictured, left to right). Mercury: extra small grey, Venus: small yellow, Earth: small blue, Mars: small red, Jupiter: large orange, Saturn: large yellow, Uranus: medium green, Neptune: medium blue.
Pom Pom Planets
Wrap and/or glue a pipe cleaner around Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune to represent their rings.
Pom Pom Planets
Cut 8 pieces of yarn in equal lengths. Glue one end of each strand of yarn to a pom pom planet.
Pom Pom Planets
Once the glue is dry, tie each string (in the order previously pictured) onto a wire hanger.
Pom Pom Planets
Decorate the top of the hanger by applying stickers, covering it with paper, or hanging stars.
Pom Pom Planets
He added some glitter glue to make it more outer space like.
Pom Pom Planets
The planets represent the order from the sun (Mercury on the far left to Neptune on the far right). This was such a fun way to learn and create a model about the solar system.
