We've lived in Texas for a long time and I can count on my hands the number of times that it has snowed in our city. The only way my kids are going to see snow is if we create it! After I found an adorable book called, "Snip, Snip, Snow" all about making paper snowflakes, we decided it was the perfect time for some snowflake exploration!

How We Did It

Snowflake Collage

Fold small squares into different shapes and cut out snowflakes. I pre-cut the paper into 3" squares to get the kids started.

My kids love to cut paper into confetti, so making snowflake was a change of pace from what normally happens in our house!

Gather all of the extra little bits and pieces into a small container or bowl.

My kids loved marveling at each of their snowflakes. ("See Mommy, isn't this one cool?!")

Now use the snowflakes you've made and/or the leftover pieces to make a snow collage.

Once you've glued paper to your heart's content, start adding the glitter glue. (Or maybe a whole bottle of glitter glue!)

Now sit back and admire your creations. Or if you're my daughter, dive into making a bunch more snowflakes. (While I'm writing this post, she has come back in for paper two more times!)
