Love new ways to create and write? Easily make your own quill pen out of a drinking straw, and ink made from washable paint.

How We Did It

Straw Quill Pens & Homemade Ink

Any small jar will do...a baby food jar or a small spice jar would work very nicely to hold your 'ink'.

Straw Quill Pens & Homemade Ink
First Madeleine took her scissors and made her quill point... she just cut the straw on an angle. Snip!

Into the end goes the feather! Maddie just put it in, but if you like you could squeeze a drop of glue into the end of the straw.
Straw Quill Pens & Homemade Ink
She wanted dark red ink, so she mixed red and a bit of black washable paint, adding a little water to thin it.
Straw Quill Pens & Homemade Ink
All done! So simple. She was so excited to have a new way to draw! We love discovering new ways to make lovely things.
