Activity Designer

With a few toilet paper rolls, some stickers and string, this recycled project lends itself to all sorts of fun. With these binoculars, your little explorers can go on an exciting expedition to wherever their imaginations take them.

What You'll Need

  • scissors (1)
  • hot glue gun (or craft glue) - You want the glue to dry fast to hold the rolls together

How We Did It

Toilet Paper Roll Binoculars
Gather your supplies. I used a low heat glue gun for this project.
Toilet Paper Roll Binoculars

Cut one of the toilet paper rolls in half lengthwise. This will be the top of the binoculars. The other two toilet paper rolls will be the eyeholes. If your child is able to cut with scissors, they can do this step, but my daughter needed help cutting the straight line.

Fit the cut toilet paper roll over the top of the two rolls. I found it was hard to line everything up, so I glued the two whole rolls to each other first, and then placed the open roll on top and glued it on. I glued along the top of each roll, as well as the sides.

Add the stickers. My daughter had a blast covering her binoculars with butterfly stickers.

Using the hot glue attach string or ribbon to each side of the toilet paper rolls. I made the ribbon just long enough that my daughter can slip the binoculars on over her head. Now it's time to go outside and explore!
