Wax Hearts
My favorite projects to do with my kids are the projects I remember from when I was a kid. Melting crayons with wax paper was a favorite craft when I was little. My kids had just as much fun as I did creating these pretty wax hearts.
What You'll Need
How We Did It
First grab your supplies. You will need wax crayons with the paper wrappers removed. (We used random broken crayons.) You'll also need wax paper and an iron, as well as a pencil sharpener to create the wax shavings from the crayon.
Use the pencil sharpener to sharpen the crayons. Use a little bowl to catch the shavings in since they can get a little messy.
I folded a piece of wax paper in half so the kids could see where half the paper would be. Then they sprinkled the crayon shavings on half the wax paper. The shavings should be thin and spread out evenly.
