DIRECTOR/ VP OF ENGINEERING

We are looking for a talented and experienced Software leader interested in contributing to the very early stages of a startup - where you will have a real impact on the business and technology. We are looking for an entrepreneurial engineering talent looking for a hands-on development role with leadership responsibilities. You will work closely with our executive team in providing leadership to our development team. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Technical leadership: Provide technical direction and guidance, as well as planning and scheduling as appropriate for the engineering team. Coordinate the establishment and execution of architectural roadmap

PRODUCTION MANAGER

Working closely with the Product Development Team, the Production Manager is responsible for planning and executing the sourcing, purchasing and delivery of all components or finished goods at the desired cost, while maintaining brand aesthetic and quality standards.

Responsibilities

On a daily basis you will:

  • Work closely with the Product Design team to identify the appropriate set of materials needed
  • Manage all communications and tracking during the product development and sourcing/purchasing process including factory selection, request for quotations and product samples, negotiation of prices, quantities and schedules
  • Over time, develop specialized knowledge of craft related product categories including supply base, manufacturing process, cost drivers, technical advancement and innovations
  • Work with domestic and overseas vendors to source, sample, communicate changes and ultimately approve components and finished goods.
  • Communicate standards and tolerance levels for all component and finished goods including required testing protocols
  • Adhere to a calendar that coordinates the efforts of operations, sourcing and marketing to avoid mismatches in promotions/expectations/delivery
  • Work with inventory management system to ensure accuracy of receipts, builds and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels
  • Costing/Margin: Provide costing options and negotiate pricing with vendors to ensure target margins are achievable
  • Tracking: Manage the execution and timing of samples, track prototypes and orchestrate approval for all samples and final inventory
  • Provide a conduit for supplier feedback, proposals and product concepts.

We’re looking for a customer service manager to join our team and provide exceptional customer service for Kiwi Crate customers. The Customer Service Manager will lead the CS team of 3-5 CS specialists to deliver superior service and design the best service policies. This full-time position will involve customer interactions by phone, email, live chat as well as designing the best service policies. In particular, daily trouble shooting and developing a deep understanding of the subscription order management process are essential to success. Daily interactions with the reset of the marketing and operations team are required to help support on time delivery of our product to consumers.

Role

The Graphic Designer role at Kiwi Crate brings our brands (Kiwi Crate, Koala Crate, Doodle Crate, and Tinker Crate) to life and plays a key role in shaping the consumer’s view of the company. It’s a rich and rewarding position that directly shapes our customers’ impressions and engages our young customers. You will be creating and delivering packaging, product designs, die lines, and collateral for our retail channel.

  • Includes project creation with the design team, project testing, and some material sourcing.
  • Manages development of print layout work for instruction sheets and magazines.
  • Creates presentations and sell sheets for meetings with retail buyers. Produces planograms and visual layouts as needed.
  • Owns developing new packaging design for an assortment of products.

  • Experience. Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of graphic design experience with demonstrated creative successes. Experience in packaging required.
  • Passionate about customers. You love our customers and understand how to design and develop artwork for a fun and enriching set of projects and materials - for kids and for parents.
  • Hands-on, “get things done” mentality. Self-starter with the ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment and meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines while still paying attention to details and executing flawlessly. Strong project management skills.
  • Passionate about design. Understands the design and development process from concept to production. An eye for great design and intuitive understanding of what connects with readers / customers. Strong design and art skills with a fresh aesthetic. Proficient in CS6: InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator.
  • Resourceful. You see a project from idea stage through successful completion - and do whatever it takes to make it a success. You are an innovative thinker and can solve problems creatively.
  • Detail-oriented. We move quickly, but we bring care and thoughtfulness to everything we do. We care deeply about the details.
  • Collaborative. Ability to work well within cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization. A positive force on the team who can bring our product to the next level.
